Paddled The Upper New River from McCreery to Stonecliff on a beautiful June day. Met some new friends and paddled with some old friends that I had not seen in a while. Photos are posted in the Paddling gallery.
Paddled the McCreery to Stonecliff section of the New River on June 7th, 2018. Level was about 7 feet on the Thurmond gauge. Pictures are in the Paddling Gallery.
There were 12 paddlers in two rafts, one ducky and 4 kayaks. Had a beautiful day and a perfect water level (about 6 feet.) See photos in the Paddling Gallery.
A quick trip on the Fort Spring to Alderson section with just the two of us. Rode the bicycle for shuttle. Level was 5.3 feet. Some photos posted in the Paddling gallery.

Catarafted the Elk River below Webster Springs. Used a hand held GPS unit to measure the actual river miles as there has always been some confusion about the distance. The distance by road is about 8.5 miles. The river is 11.7 miles. Here is an image from Google Earth.
Took the cataraft out for a spin on the New River on the McCreery to Stonecliff section. Got surfed at Sidney Side Pocket.
Spent the day hiking the Gauley River starting at Carnifex Ferry State Park. Hiked down to the river and back on a steep trail. Shot some drone video from above and at river level.
